What is the Portfolio builder and how does it work?
The Portfolio Builder is a feature (currently in Beta) that places buy orders for music catalogue shares based on settings selected by the user.
When creating a plan, you can choose:
- the catalogues that the Portfolio Builder may buy;
- the maximum percentage that a single catalogue may represent;
- how close to each catalogue's reference price your buy orders are typically placed; and
- the amount of funds to allocate.
Once the plan is active, the Portfolio Builder places and updates buy orders within these settings. Orders are only executed when matching shares are available for sale at the order price. It may therefore take time for allocated funds to be invested, and some orders may not be executed immediately.
What happens to allocated funds?
Funds allocated to the Portfolio Builder remain within your ANote account. They are shown as “Locked funds” in your “My Portfolio” section and reserved for orders placed by the Portfolio Builder and are only used when an order is executed.
When an order is executed, the shares are placed in your Portfolio.
The minimum amount required to activate a Portfolio Builder plan is €1,000.
What happens to the royalties I receive when the Portfolio Builder is active?
Royalties distributed by catalogue shares managed through the Portfolio Builder are added to the funds available within the plan. While the plan remains active, these funds will be used for future buy orders of the Portfolio Builder.
Can I change or stop the plan?
Yes, you can deactivate the Portfolio Builder. When it is deactivated, all the pending buy orders are cancelled and no new orders are placed. Any catalogue shares already acquired remain yours.
While the Portfolio Builder is active, you also have the option to:
- add funds;
- change the selected catalogues;
- change the maximum allocation per catalogue;
- change the pricing preference; and
- enable or disable the available advanced options.
