To enhance the security of your transactions and ensure full compliance with European regulations, Mangopay SA, ANote Music’s payment provider, is introducing an extra layer of protection for your account. This process is called Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) and it is different from the 2FA, which is optional and only impacts the access to your account.
What is SCA?
Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) is a security measure required by European law under the Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2). It’s designed to make online payments safer and reduce the risk of fraud.
SCA requires you to confirm your identity using at least two of the following three factors:
- Something you know – e.g. a password or PIN
- Something you have – e.g. your phone or device
- Something you are – e.g. fingerprint or facial recognition
How does SCA work on ANote Music?
You may be asked to verify your identity through SCA when performing sensitive actions on your ANote Music account, such as:
- Placing a buy order
- Updating your bank details for withdrawing funds
- In some cases, adding funds to your account through wire transfer.
To enable SCA, you’ll need to register your phone number and create a PIN in your ANote Music account. The platform will guide you through this process.
When performing a sensitive action on the platform, you’ll receive a one-time password (OTP) via SMS and be prompted to enter your PIN to proceed.
If you don’t complete the setup right away, you can return to it at any time via the “Strong Customer Authentication” section in your account settings.
Please note: SCA must be activated in order to add funds, place buy orders, or update your withdrawal bank details.
