What is proxy consent?

Why you're seeing this.

When you add funds, check your balance, or place an order in ANote Music, you are using our regulated payment provider Mangopay. To process these transactions securely and to comply with European regulations for payment services, Mangopay needs to verify that you authorise  ANote Music as an intermediary to complete those transactions on your behalf.

What does proxy consent mean?

Proxy consent allows ANote Music to perform specific actions on your ANote Music personal e-wallet (provided by Mangopay) without requiring you to authenticate each transaction.

The permissions that require your approval are  essential for your account to function properly. They include:

  • Change contact information - Update your personal  information, such as email, address or name, on Mangopay when you change it on ANote Music.
  • Register/modify external accounts - Add or update your bank account details for withdrawals when you change it on ANote Music.
  • Execute payments - Process deposits and withdrawals on your behalf when you request them.
  • Access balance and transactions - View your wallet balance and transaction history so we can display them on your ANote Music account. This allows us to assist you if you have questions about payments or your transaction activity.

Why this matters to you.

By providing proxy consent, your experience stays seamless while still meeting regulatory security requirements. To clarify, you're always in control:

  • You can manage these permissions from your Profile.
  • We can only perform the actions you've explicitly initiated and authorized.
  • All transactions are logged and visible in your transaction history.

Important note: Not allowing proxy consent means you won't be able to add funds, or invest on ANote Music.

Proxy and Strong Customer Authentication (SCA).

This proxy system and the SCA are part of the regulatory requirements under the European Payment Services Directive, designed to make online payments more secure.

The Strong Customer Authentication,  requires at least two out of three-factor authentication for most electronic payments. However, proxy consent is an exemption that allows a trusted party like ANote Music to perform specific actions on your behalf, for transactions that can happen when you are not actively online in the platform, for example, buying or selling shares, which involves transferring funds between investors wallets.

  • If you’ve already activated SCA on ANote Music, you only need to complete the proxy consent now.
  • If you haven’t done either yet, you can enable both at the same time during the setup process.
